Who we are
RankMast is the provider of the RankMast macOS app and this website. For questions or requests about personal information we handle, email oliver@rankmast.com.
This policy covers the RankMast app and the RankMast website. Apple and Google have their own privacy practices for their services, described below.
Your ranking data stays on your Mac
The app stores your tracked apps, keywords, storefronts, search results, check history, settings, backups, and exports locally on your Mac. RankMast does not run a cloud account or a product server that receives this workspace data.
When you ask the app to look up an app or run a ranking check, it sends the relevant app ID, keyword, and storefront to Apple’s public iTunes Search API. Apple receives the request and the network information needed to deliver a response, such as your IP address. RankMast stores the returned results locally.
If you subscribe, Apple handles the App Store purchase and subscription through StoreKit. RankMast reads the entitlement status needed to unlock processing; we do not receive your payment card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
You can export, back up, restore, apply retention controls to, or remove your local RankMast data in the app. An export or backup remains wherever you choose to save or share it. If you import an export into another service, that service’s privacy terms apply.
Information the website handles
Waitlist
When you join, we store your email address and signup time so we can send beta invitations and major product updates. This is separate from your Mac ranking data. We rely on your consent to send these updates. You can withdraw it and ask us to remove your address at any time.
Contact messages
When you contact us, we receive your name, email address, and message through our email provider so we can reply and manage your request. Our basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and providing support.
Site visits and analytics
Our web server and hosting provider may process your IP address, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps to serve and secure the site. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running and protecting the website. If you choose to allow analytics, we load Google Analytics to understand site visits and usage. It can use cookies or similar browser storage and receive device and usage information. We rely on your consent for this optional analytics. See Google’s privacy policy for its handling of that information.
You can change your analytics choice using . We store that choice in your browser so the site can remember it. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser. The main site and the Mac app work without Google Analytics.
How long we keep information
Your ranking database, local backups, and exports stay on your Mac until you use the app’s retention or removal controls, or otherwise delete those files. RankMast cannot remove copies you have saved elsewhere.
We keep waitlist details while the waitlist and related product updates are active, unless you ask us to remove them sooner. We keep contact correspondence for as long as needed to respond and handle related follow-up. Website server records and analytics information are retained according to the settings of the hosting and analytics services and our operational needs. We may keep limited records longer where required to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
To leave the waitlist or request deletion of information held by the website, email oliver@rankmast.com. Deleting website information does not change data stored on your Mac.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact us to make a request. These rights can have legal exceptions.
If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would welcome the chance to address your concern first.
Questions and changes
Email oliver@rankmast.com with privacy questions or requests. We may update this policy when the app, website, or our providers change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
